Conygree Road is a major through route through Stanground and is
used by a large number of vehicles at all times of the day. It also
has Schools on both sides, bus routes into and out of the city and
much housing, including residential accommodation for elderly and
disabled.
Cross in the road as a able bodied person is dangerous, for
children or elderly it is often almost impossible. additionally,
many cars and other vehicles ignore the existing speed
limits.
Installing a pedestrian crossing will allow safe passage across the
road for the many people attending local schools, or for those
travelling into and out of Peterborough City Centre by public
transport.
This provision is vital to prevent serious accidents at this
particular point in the future.
