19/10/2020 - Award of Contract for the construction of a new school building to accommodate the expansion of Heltwate SEN School - OCT20/CMDN/39 ref: 1775    Recommendations Approved

The Cabinet Member, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Finance:

 

1.         Authorised the expansion of Heltwate SEN School and the construction of new accommodation, up to the value of the budget sum of £6.8m. This sum shall include legal costs associated with the purchase of the Silver Jubilee site and the anticipated design and build contract costs and funding for Information and Communications Technology (ICT), all site surveys and project management and technical advisors fees.

 

2.         Authorised the Executive Director People and Communities to award the design and build contract to the successful contractor, subject to planning consent and, approval by delegated members.

 

3.         Authorised the Head of Legal Services or delegated officers to enter into any legal documentation on behalf of the Council in relation to this matter, including the design and build contract.

16/10/2020 - COVID-19 Urgent and Surge Community Swabbing Service - continued delegation of function to Cambridgeshire County Council - OCT20/CMDN/38 ref: 1774    Recommendations Approved

The Cabinet Member approved the following.

 

Authorised the continued delegation of authority to Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC) to act as lead local authority in commissioning the COVID-19 Urgent and Surge Community Swabbing Service across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire and for delivery of the function of the service, which shall include the associated transfer of funding to CCC from 1 November 2020 until 17 July 2021.  CCC shall enter into contract with the supplier for the delivery of this service.

06/10/2020 - Award of Contract - Provision of Child and Family Centres Services in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire - OCT20/CMDN/36 ref: 1772    Recommendations Approved

The Cabinet Member authorised the award of contract to Barnardos Services Ltd for the delivery of children’s centre services, due to commence on 18 January 2021. This contract will be for a period of 5 years, with an optional 2 year extension followed by 3 further extension periods of 12 months.

 

The contract price shall be £6,691,590, for the five year contract period from 18 January 2021 to 17 January 2026.

05/10/2020 - A605 Whittlesey Access Phase 2 - Stanground Access: Contract exemption for Cadent Gas works – OCT20/CMDN/35 ref: 1771    Recommendations Approved

The Cabinet Member authorised an exemption from the Council’s Contract Rules to allow a contract to be placed with Cadent Gas to undertake essential works associated with the A605 Whittlesey Access Phase 2 – Stanground Access highway scheme at a cost of£1,657,393.08. This CMDN does not increase the overall cost of the scheme.
