     It is recommended that the Corporate Parenting Committee:

1.     Notes the content of the report,

2.     Agrees the Champion roles recommended; and

3.     Appoints Members to the agreed Corporate Parenting Champion roles.

This report will allow the Committee to review the current Corporate Parenting Champions positions and allocations, which is in line with the recent Cabinet and Committee changes made.

The purpose of this report is to provide an update from the Children in Care Council and to allow the Committee to raise any queries they have with lead officers

     It is recommended that the Corporate Parenting Committee

1.    Notes the content of the report in relation to the function of Peterborough Virtual School and the actions being taken to maintain and improve educational outcomes.

This annual report is presented to provide members of the Committee with a report on the achievements of Children and Young People in Care on the role of Peterborough Virtual School .

     It is recommended that the corporate parenting committee:

2.    Raise any queries with the lead officers

3.    Make any recommendations

The purpose of this report is to update the committee of the position of Apprenticeships and Work Opportunities for Care Leavers in the City.

     It is recommended that Corporate Parenting Committee :

?        Raise any queries they have with the lead officer.

The purpose of this report is to provide information on the education opportunities for all

Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children/Young People.

     It is recommended that Corporate Parenting Committee members:

1.    Note the work being undertaken to review the current Children in Care & Care Leavers Strategy; and

2.    Offer any comments regarding the content of the Children in Care & Care Leavers strategy being drafted for adoption.

The Children in Care and Care Leavers Strategy is currently being reviewed.  This report is to share information with Corporate Parenting Committee members.

It is recommended that the Corporate Parenting Committee

To update the Corporate Parenting Committee in respect of the numbers of children and young

people currently being looked after by the Council and to provide a breakdown of the types of

placements in which they are living.  The report also provides information about the age, gender

and ethnicity of those children and young people.  

It is recommended that the Corporate Parenting Committee:

1. Notes the content of the report; and

2. Raise any queries with the Lead Officers.

The purpose of this report is to provide an overview of the Clinical Commissioning Group’s

(CCG) activities to ensure robust monitoring and quality assurance systems are in place to meet the health needs of the Looked after Children population in Peterborough

   It is recommended that Corporate Parenting Committee:

      I.        Notes the 2018/2019 year in review and makes recommendations on the future monitoring of these items where necessary.

    II.        Determines its priorities, and approves the draft work programme for formal and informal meetings for 2019/20 attached at Appendix 1.

   III.        Notes the Recommendations Monitoring Report attached at Appendix 2 and considers if further monitoring of the recommendations made during the 2018/2019 municipal year is required.

                  IV.        Notes the Terms of Reference for this Committee as set out in Part 3, Delegations Section 2 – Regulatory Committee Functions, 2.4.

To enable the Committee to discuss its objectives and priorities for 2019/20 and to approve the draft work programme for 2019/20 (Appendix 1).

The report also provides the Committee with the opportunity to review its work conducted throughout the municipal year 2018/19. A copy of the actions and recommendations made are attached at Appendix 4.

Members that are not part of the core CPC membership, but hold Corporate Parenting responsibilities, are invited to raise any issues they have with regard to the services provided to Children in Care.

The next formal meeting of Corporate Parenting Committee is due to be held on Wednesday, 20 November 2019.
