Summary of Review Application

 

In accordance with Section 51 of the Licensing Act 2003, following the submission of an application for a Personal Licence and following declaration of a criminal conviction, an objection was received from the Responsible Authority – the Constabulary. The Licensing Authority was required to hold a hearing.

 

A summary of the issues raised within the representations included:

 

  • The applicant had declared a criminal conviction and following an objection from the constabulary, his application required reviewing.

Mr. Langford Smith addressed the Sub-Committee. The key points raised during his address, and following questions from the Sub-Committee were as follows:

 

  • The applicant wished to withdraw his application and reapply at a time when his criminal convictions would not be considered.
