Apologies for Absence

Minutes:

Apologies were received from Councillors Walsh, Cereste and Sandford.

 

Councillors Todd and Davidson were in attendance as substitutes.

 

2.

Declarations of Interest

At this point Members must declare whether they have a disclosable pecuniary interest, or other interest, in any of the items on the agenda, unless it is already entered in the register of members’ interests or is a “pending notification “ that has been disclosed to the Solicitor to the Council.

Members must also declare if they are subject to their party group whip in relation to any items under consideration.

Exclusion of Press and Public

In accordance with Standing Orders, Members are asked to determine whether:

 

i)    Agenda item 4, the ‘Appointment to the Post of Assistant Director for Communities and Targeted Services (Deputy Director) and Determination of Pay’, which contains exempt information relating to contemplated consultations or negotiations in connection with a labour relations matter arising between the authority and employees or office holders of the authority, as defined by Paragraph 4 of Schedule 12A of Part 1 of the Local Government Act 1972, should be exempt and the press and public excluded from the meeting when this report is discussed or whether the public interest in disclosing this information outweighs the public interest in maintaining the exemption; and

ii)  Agenda item 5, ‘Interviews for the Position of Assistant Director for Specialist Commissioning’, which contains exempt information relating to individuals, as defined by Paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of Schedule 12A of Part 1 of the Local Government Act 1972, should be exempt and the press and public excluded from the meeting when this item is discussed or whether the public interest in disclosing this information outweighs the public interest in maintaining the exemption.

            The Committee unanimously agreed to the exclusion of the press and public for agenda items 4 ‘Appointment to the Post of Assistant Director for Communities and Targeted Services (Deputy Director) and Determination of Pay’ and 5 ‘Interviews for the Position of Assistant Director for Specialist Commissioning’ and Determination of Salary.

          RESOLVED:

 

          The Employment Committee agreed:

         

i)      The appointment of Adrian Chapman as the Assistant Director for Communities and Targeted Services (Deputy Director); and

ii)     Determination of the salary for Assistant Director for Communities and Targeted Services (Deputy Director).

 

          Reasons for the decision

 

The slot in was in accordance with Peterborough City Council’s policy to support the redeployment of staff at risk of redundancy.

RESOLVED:

 

          The Employment Committee agreed:

 

i)      To appoint Mr Patrick Lucien Williams for the position of Assistant Director Specialist Commissioning; and

ii)     Determination of the salary for Assistant Director Specialist Commissioning.
