Purpose:
This decision seeks to rationalise the two
appointment routes, in order to ensure greater transparency around
Council appointments to the Peterborough Limited Board, whether
these are Member or officer appointments.
Reasons for the decision:
The recommendations have been made to ensure that there is full Council representation on the board of Peterborough Limited and that the record of Council employees appointed to outside organisations is as up to date and accurate as possible.
Alternative options considered:
Maintain the status quo with partial representation from the Council – The option was dismissed, as to do so would jeopardise quorum in relation to Peterborough Limited board meetings and the ability of the board to make decisions.
