Purpose:

The Cabinet Member approved the disposal of the former Fletton PRU at £590,000

 

Reasons for the decision:

In order to dispose of a surplus property which will generate a capital receipt and support an important local business supplying an essential service to the Council’s residents.

 

Alternative options considered:

The Council investigated the prospect of using the building for a community centre and / or leasing it to a local charity. However, the expanding requirement for mortuary services was considered more important than these two options.
