The Cabinet Member agreed that the Council enter a Delegation and Partnership agreement with Cambridgeshire County Council so that CCC can lead the re-procurement of mental health anti-stigma work.

As detailed in 3.4 there are many benefits to this arrangement. Historically this has been proven to be an effective way of working and the current contract has delivered, and often exceeded all outcome measures originally set.

Do Nothing

This would mean that CCC and PCC would separately commission anti-stigma work, the scale of the work would be considerably reduced and there would need to be consideration of what is feasible within the cost envelope. This would mean either a focus on suicide prevention ASIST training, suicide prevention campaign work or a youth mental health campaign. It would not be feasible to commission all of this work with a budget of £10,000 a year. Therefore it is deemed better value for money to combine PCC and CCC funding and commission a single service. As has been previously the case the service delivery (e.g. training sessions) is proportionate to investment although campaigns work is delivered across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire.
