The Cabinet Member authorised the Council entering into a Section 76 Agreement for the period 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019, under the National Health Service Act 2006, with the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group for payment of £250 000 relating to the Speech and Language Therapy services (SALT) across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire.
Reasons for the decision:
The Section 76 agreement will enable the delivery of an integrated and consistent Speech and Language Therapy for children, thereby improving outcomes for children and young people.
Renewal of the 76 agreement for a further one year period will allow for the alignment of the SALT service and the commencement of the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme contract, which will ensure integrated and consistent delivery across a vast range of children’s health services throughout Peterborough and Cambridgeshire.
Alternative options considered:
To do nothing – this was rejected as the agreement between Peterborough City Council, Cambridgeshire County Council and the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG enable to delivery of a wider range of services to children and young people, which will improve outcomes for this group.
