About Councillor Sharp

I have been fortunate enough to represent North Ward (New England and Bluebell) since May 2000.  I intend to use this site to keep you, the electorate, up to speed with things relevant to the Ward.
  • Here are a few facts about me -

I am not a member of any Party political group.  However as I believe all political parties have something to offer, I have included links to a number of the parties under "My Politics".
I was born in Peterborough and lived in Millfield, until 1980, when I then moved into the North Ward in Coleridge Place, (near Fulbridge School). I work closely with Councillor Swift - the other North Ward Councillor who is also a Member of the Peterborough Independent Forum.  For more information on Councillor Swift please click on the tab at the side of this page.
I have been involved in Council work since 1978, when I was elected to represent Central Ward and did so until 1982.  I continued by working with Residents Associations' in the city until 2000 and chaired the Fulbridge Residents Association for three years, as well as working closely with Bluebell and New England Resident Groups.  We also work closely with the local police, who you can contact on the link:;  PCSO,Martin West
I am a School Governor at Fulbridge School  and a Trustee at Millfield Community Association.  I chair the Good Neighbour Advisory Board - a group offering help and support to people in need, throughout the area. The Greater Dogsthorpe Partnership has just started and I along with Charles serve on the board. The Director for the GDP is Graeme Clark pictured below, You can contact the GDP Office  at 96 Central Ave or e-mail or their web site  Cate Harding.
I have worked for East Midland Newspaper Limited  since 1991.
If you wish to contact me, you will notice a link on the left hand side. This is there for any problems you may wish to bring to my attention, or, if you just feel you would like to make contact, click contact me or come to one of my Surgeries.  Alternatively contact the Citizen's Advice Bureau (01733 558383) - they are there to offer advice on a wide variety of issues.
