13/12/2017 - Purchase of the freehold interest in Peterborough Registry Office - DEC17/CMDN/75 ref: 1413    Recommendations Approved

To delegate authority to the Corporate Director of Growth and Regeneration to purchase the freehold interest in Peterborough Registry Office.

 

With the approval of the Chairman of the Growth, Environment and Resources Scrutiny Committee Urgency, Special Urgency and waiver of call-in procedures have been invoked to suspend the requirement to advertise the decision for 28 days, publish the decision for 5 days prior to publication, and to suspend the 3 day call-in period.

 

This is because the Council has entered into an agreement with the vendor to complete the transaction within a strict timetable giving its exclusivity to acquire the property ‘’off market’’ with completion being on or before the date rent next becomes due which is 25 December 2017

11/12/2017 - Continuation Of The 'Peterborough DNA' Programme Up To March 2019 - DEC17/CMDN/72 ref: 1410    Recommendations Approved

The report seeks approval for continued delivery of the Peterborough DNA programme, now known as the ‘Future Peterborough Framework’ through Opportunity Peterborough as outlined in the report following receipt of a grant from Innovate UK (formally the Technology Strategy Board) in March 2013. The report follows three previous key decisions to approve the delivery of the Peterborough DNA programme and will be the final tranche of funding.

Cabinet considered the report and RESOLVED to:

 

1.    Have regard to the consultation feedback received to date and statutory advice detailed in the report when determining the phase one budget proposals, noting that consultation remained open until 30 November 2017, and that an addendum was provided prior to the Cabinet meeting.

 

2.    Note the timetable for the phase two consultation and formal approval of the 2018/19 to 2020/21 Medium Term Financial Strategy as detailed at section 5;

 

3.    Note that budget proposals considered by Council on the 13 December 2017 would form part of the Medium Term Financial Strategy but would not form part of the second stage of consultation or Council debate on 5 March 2018.

 

4.    Recommend to Council, having had regard to feedback, approval of the phase one budget proposals to enable implementation of these budget proposals to commence.
